Director’s bio:

Inshra Russell is a writer, director and producer known for her short film The Singing Teacher, which won a ‘Special Mention’ award at the International Open Film Festival 2016.

Inshra grew up in Dhaka, Bangladesh. After completing her Bachelors’ Degree in Fashion Photography from London College of Fashion, she worked in an advertising agency in Dhaka for a year designing products, campaigns and events.

She has directed and produced music videos and worked freelance as a production co-ordinator for many production companies including Pulse Films. Her commissioned work includes seasonal campaigns, both stills and films, for Bangladesh’s largest lifestyle brand Aarong. Her latest fashion film generated more than 2 million views on Facebook.

Inshra’s work is influenced by the amalgamation of art, music, films and fascination for science, food and children’s book illustrations.
